Red Wine Sangria
Nothing says fun like a fresh and fruity glass of Sangria. This Spanish cocktail is customizable—start with red wine as the base and add fresh fruit. You can add other fruit juices, brandy or vodka, bubbles, and sugar for more complexity. Try our recipe with ingredients you’re likely to have handy.
Ingredients
- 6 parts fruity red wine
- 1 part brandy
- 1 part seltzer or soda water
- 1 apple, cored and sliced
- 1 orange, sliced with ends removed
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Directions
- Slice fruit and combine with sugar in a large pitcher. Muddle together before adding wine and brandy. Stir gently and refrigerate, allowing the flavors to blend for as little as an hour or overnight. Add seltzer or soda water at serving and pour over ice.

Traditionally Sangria is served is a large pitcher and poured in large wine glasses or hurricane glasses.
White Wine Sangria

- 1 1/2 cup Prosecco, seltzer, or soda water
- 1/2 cup premium vodka
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup basil (loosely packed)
- 1 medium lemon (thinly sliced into rounds)
- 1 medium lime (thinly sliced into rounds)
- 1 ripe peach or nectarine (thinly sliced)
- 1 1/2 cup strawberries (thinly sliced)
