Diamond Rings
Welcome to the diamond ring shop at Sam’s Club. If you’re thinking about purchasing a diamond ring, congratulations! Sam’s Club® is here to help you select the right ring for that special someone. In addition to plenty of engagement ring styles, there are lots of wedding rings for women as well as wedding rings for men. Consider Sam’s Club your go-to wedding ring shop online. When you’re choosing a ring, you’ll want to learn as much as you can about what the ring recipient likes as well as the types of rings that are available. Here are a few things to consider:
Shape
Choosing the shape of a diamond is all about personal preference. The most popular diamond shape is the round cut. Other shapes include a cushion cut (with rounded corners), the emerald cut (think vintage), the marquise cut (boat-shaped) and the princess cut (square).
Color
When it comes to color, less is more! The color, or whiteness, of a diamond is rated on a 23-letter scale from D – Z. At Sam's Club, we're proud to only carry colors D – I for diamond rings, which are virtually colorless.
Cut
Often confused with shape, the cut measures the reflective qualities, or brilliance, of a diamond. Whatever the shape, a well-proportioned cut lets light shine through for maximum sparkle.
Setting
A diamond’s setting refers to the way the diamond is attached to the rest of the ring. Some diamond setting types include halo, pave, prong, tension, bezel and tiffany.
Carat
You may be familiar with the term carat, when exploring diamond rings or bulk diamonds. One common misconception about carat size is that it relates to the size of the diamond. In fact, carat refers to the weight of the diamond. The term you’ll see most often is total carat weight. When you are shopping, you’ll notice that not all diamonds with the same total carat weight look the same. Depending on the other features of the diamond, a stone with a smaller carat weight could look larger than one with a higher carat weight.
Clarity
While many of us think of diamonds as crystal clear and perfect, clarity is a consideration. Diamonds naturally have microscopic imperfections called inclusions. Therefore, they get rated for their clarity based on their inclusions. The fewer imperfections a diamond has, the higher its clarity rating will be. Clarity ratings are: FL, VVS1 and VVS2 (very very slightly included), VS1 and VS2 (very slightly included), SI1 and SI2 (slightly included) and I1 I2, I3 (imperfect).
